rest and motion are relative terms as there is no object in the universe present which is at absolute rest or absolute motion
when a body appears to be at rest to someone it might be possible that it appear to be in motion to some other person at the same time
For ex:- a man sitting in a moving train is at rest with respect to the passenger sitting with him in the train whereas the man is moving along the with the train to those who are waiting on the station
