when water vapour present in the air comes in contact with something cool like the glass containing cold water, the molecules become slower and get closer together . Then the gaseous water droplets changes back into liquid water droplets by the process called condensation.

The water vapour present in air loses its kinetic energy when it comes in contact with any cold stuff like a glass containing ice cold water.When it loses its energy, it settles down on the surface of glass ans changes into water through condensation. This water is observed in the form of water droplets.
