because its silver chloride split in silver and chlorine gas in the presence of sunlight.
2AgCl = 2Ag+Cl2

PrajwalTripathi: Then what will happen ?

Hey mate,

- We store silver chloride in dark coloured bottles as it helps to block sunlight.

- Therefore it's decomposition is prevented.

- According to chemical reactions, silver chloride decomposes to silver and chlorine in the presence of sunlight.

hope this helps you out!
