Why do we store silver chloride in dark colour bottles or silver article generally turn black when kept in environment for few days? Name the phenomenon involve?

Here's the Answer :

We store silver chloride in dark coloured bottles to prevent it from sunlight. Because when sun-ray falls on it decomposition take place and silver and chlorine forms .

Again , when silver articles are exposed to the environment an oxide layer formed on the silver .Thus , silver turns black .

This process of forming oxide layer is called Corrosion or Oxidation .
