We try and divide history into different periods in order to capture the characteristics of time. Also, it is done to capture the central features of that particular time. It is important to demarcate the difference between periods as they reflect our ideas about the past. Also, we come to know about the region involved and chronological study of events.

Answer: we try and divide history into different period in order to capture the characteristic of a time its Central features as they appear to us the term through which we periodise that is a democratic then different between period become a property important they reflect our idea about the past.
