plastic bags,bottles etc are made of plastic due to a reason.the reason why we need plastic is :

1. protection: protects vulnerable products from damage whilst in transit or damage with moisture
2. preservation: preserves products for longer,which reduces waste by giving people more time to use their products longer.
3. prevents waste: products kept together and spill-ages are avoided.
4. transportation: allows transport over great distances so we have access to a wide variety of non local products that have been traded from countries.
5. displays information: important information about the product such as fats,nutritions,ingredients etc are easily displayed on packagings

but plastic also damages the enviornment..some countries have band using of plastic bags until they are dissolvent.
