why do we wear warm clothes in winter season

in winter we usually wear warm clothes that is woolen clothes as it  provides warmth to our body by not letting the heat released by our body escape into the surrounding.the warm air gets trapped in the woolen fibres and thus it provdes warmth.due to wollen's poor conductivity it does not absorb the cool air or it does not absorb the warm air and  keep's it trapped.

During winter, the temperature of surroundings is very low as compared to our body temperature. So, heat flows from our body to the surroundings and we feel very cold. Therefore, we wear warm clothes to prevent the heat loss from the body as the thick clothes are bad conductor of heat.
