why do years sometimes pop when flying in an airplane?

our ears pop sometime during flying in an airplane because the air high above the surfave of earth is less dense than air near the surface, because air near the surface has all the air above it pushing down.our inner ear have air trapped in it and as atmospheric pressure change it cause pressure on our ear drum...
