why do you fall in the forward direction when a moving bus brakes to a stop and fall backwards when it accelerates from rest

When a moving bus brakes suddenly to a stop we fall in the forward direction because the the lower part of our body comes to a stop when the bus stops but the upper part of our body continues to move forward due to its inertia (making us fall in the forward direction.)
When a bus accelerates from rest we tend to fall backward because the lower part of our body starts moving with the moving bus but upper part of our body tries to remain at rest due to its inertia (making us fall backwards.)

Explanation:
In a moving bus, passengers are in motion along with bus. When brakes are applied to stop a moving bus, bus comes in the position of rest. But because of tendency to be in the motion a person falls in forward direction.
Similarly, when a bus is accelerated from rest, the tendency to be in rest, a person in the bus falls backwards.
