why do you find it hard to push a glass tumbler down into water?

because air has weight since we cannot see air we think it doesnot have any weight .

lalith007: What Happened: The air inside the container would not allow the water to go inside and the paper remained dry, again showing that air takes up space.  If you observed the water carefully, you may have noticed that it was able to move up inside just a short distance.  The pressure exerted by the water compressed the air inside slightly.
