Animal bones are easily available hence people used needles made from animal bones instead of making it from stones.

Explanation:

People of stoned age believed that needle made from metals would be rusted or stained after sometime. Fine sewing was not the center of the attraction, needles made from bones generally intended for heavy work. Animal bones were thinner than stones and bones were easily available as animal bones were the part of natural resources. It is easy to give shapes to the bones than animal bones hence forth early humans made sewing needles from bones not from stones.
