why do you think glaciers make u shaped valleys while rivers make V shaped valleys

Because glaciers are hardened form of water, they leave their way through mountains, making u shaped valleys. Water changes its shape depending on the container, so it forms v shaped valleys as it is not as hard as ice and can't pave way.
