Why do you think it is difficult to decide whether viruses are alive

Answer 1

Because viruses are considered as non-living organisms when they are outside the body as they do not respire,grow,etc when they are outside the host organism.Only inside the cell of host organism,they reproduce and grow. Viruses are considered to be in the borderline of living and non-living things.
