why do you think it is necessary to define a separate quantity called pressure? why is defining only force not enough?

Force and pressure are quite different physical quantities. Force is the product of mass and acceleration of a body, while pressure is the normal force acting on a boay per unit area. Units of force and pressure are different i.e. newton and pascal respectively.
