Most of the things that we get to see around us came from stars and Supernovas, with the sun, and hydrogen and helium in water being exceptions. We believe most of it has been created by the Big Bang Theory, however, it is not a possibility.

Lighter elements are known to have been produced by small stars. Also, all the physical matter present on our planet seem to have originated from collapsed supernovas. Their explosion lead to the creation of this planet.
