because for them it does not matters who will be in rule for next 5 years, but what matters is that will they even be able to earn to feed their family for next 5 days...for such people what happens in politics is of no importance than the money that they will use to feed their family ...
but it's not same for everyone . some do that just for enjoying alcoholic drinks while some others to spend in other bad deeds.
we also find many rich people seeking their vote for their greed...
that's all I think

Answer:
Yes, it is true that some people sell their votes for different reasons because sometimes they are not thinking of future of that act. We will look `at some set of people who sell their votes:
Explanation:
- The first set of individuals who sell their votes are people who don't vote. the rationale could also be thanks to fear of election violence, lack of Permanent Voter Card or outright boycott resulting in an increase in voter apathy. These people believe that their votes are meaningless which it's safer to remain reception than to risk losing their property or, worse, their lives. Voter apathy is typically seen with the ratio of actual voters compared with the registered voters.
- The second set of individuals directly sells their votes. Some people’s price could also be foodstuff like rice, bread, garri so on. How then can a nation arise after we have people sell their votes for rice? Some even sell it for urgent 2k or less. altogether honesty, the hunger and poverty levels in some families is so demeaning that they're going to not think deeply. aside from this touching but not genuine reason, I also blame it on a societal problem of various countries wanting instant gratification, these we see with numerous Ponzi schemes, internet fraud, money rituals, and low investment in agriculture.
- The people that will still sell their votes supported ethnic and spiritual biases is another painful third set. People must begin to seem beyond these affiliations (ethnic and spiritual) to induce the correct leaders. for everybody has reasons for creating political decisions. Mine and yours might not be the money the politicians or their parties may offer. we must always then also put away our religious and ethnic emotions to create good leadership values, even as experts opined.
Hence, there are so many reasons for which people sell their votes.
