Answer:
THE PHYSICAL FORMATION OF PLATEAU IS NOT MUCH SUPPORTIVE TO AGRICULTURE. PLAINS ARE FORMED WITH ALLUVIAL SOILS WHICH ARE VERY FERTILE,SO SUPPORT AGRICULTURE. THE RUGGED SURFACE OF PLATEAU MAKES IRRIGATION DIFFICULT WHEREAS PLAINS PROVIDE MUCH IRRIGATION FACILITIES

Answer:
- The plains have fertile soil and a constant supply of water through rivers which supports the large scale cultivation of even water-intensive crops such as rice in the plains. The soil is rich in nutrients which help the plants grow.
- The plateau is drier than the plains, does not have fertile soil mostly, and does not have a constant supply of river water and mostly depends on the monsoon for water. Hence, it is not that suitable for agriculture.
