Answer:

Aluminum (blended with small quantities of other metals) is used on most types of aircraft because it is lightweight and strong. Aluminum alloys don't corrode as readily as steel.

Answer:

Aluminium is light weight metal compared to iron at the same time if mixed with certain alloys it gives same strength as iron. Using iron will make the aifcraft heavier which will be then problematic while landing and take off, Due to the heavy weight of the air craft fuel consumption will also increase and the air travel would not be cost effective and affordable. Also as aluminum do not rust like iron the maintenance and upkeep is also easy and convenient.
