Public interest litigation in India. ... APIL may be introduced in a court of law by the court itself (suo motu), rather than the aggrieved party or another third party. For the exercise of the court's jurisdiction, it is not necessary for the victim of the violation of his or her rights to personally approach the court.

the introduction of public interest litigation (PIL)in the 1980 is a significant step in ensuring access to justice for all because;
• it keeps in mind the interest of the illiterate
• and poor who can't access to the Indian Legal System of justice
• against violence of their fundamental rights
