Mughals were interested in acquiring the land of the Gonds because;

1. The region of Gond was in the middle part of the subcontinent.

2. As Mughals ruled over the northern part of India, with the prospect of expansion of their dominion they wished to extend their authority over the southern lands of the subcontinent.

3. In order to succeed, they first required to establish their authority in the central part of the subcontinent which was controlled by Gonds.

Hence for conquering southern part of India Mughals were interested in acquiring the land of the Gonds.
