Women in Parliament are only a few because of the following reasons –

• Our society never wanted to accept or see that they are being ruled by women. Even in medieval and modern times when people were being dominated by Rani Lakshmibai or Razia Sultan, they were reluctant to accept women in power. In the same manner, our patriarchal society never allowed women to dominate in any field.

• Men in power took all the decisions related to women’s Rights and gradually they accepted that women should be represented by one of their own kind and not be men.
