In the early times, there was either monarchical or colonial rule in most parts of the world.

The following are the reasons why I think there was no constitution in early times:

1. In the Protohistory, the physical strength and abilities made that person the leader of the tribe.

2. Throughout ancient times, the monarchial form of governments was prevalent. It was a form of government in which the king made all the decisions for the pupil.

3. Though there was no constitution throughout the ancient period, the king often used to take advice from its nobility on decision making and for setting norms.

4. Therefore, it may be said that the ancient kings followed some kind of written and unwritten set of rules but the term constitution is a different term as it is used in the democratic form of government. And the ancient kingdoms were ruled by the kings; who often established their autocracy. And this term constitution does not support any form of autocracy.
