The first breast milk produced in mammals, is called colostrum. It is recommended that infants drink colostrum as it:

·         It provides vital acquired immunity against infections as it contains                 antibodies

·         It stimulates normal growth as it contains several growth factors

·         It is protein and vitamin rich

Breast feeding also helps to develop and strengthen the bond between mother and child.
