friction is less in the tile floor than organ carpeted floor...as the intermolecular space between tiled floor and object is less interlocked by which it moves smoothly and travels more distance than carpeted floor~~

When a ball rolls on a carpet ,it has more friction due to contact with the rough surface of carpet.
Whereas, a tiled floor has a smooth and polished surface i.e,a ball travells more distance on a tiled floor than on a carpet.
NOTE:Frictional force acts in the opposite direction of the force applied.
