Why does a car skid on the snow

A car skids on snow because in winters when it snows,snow crystals have watery surface therefore it acts as a lubricant and lubricants reduce friction.This is why cars skid/slip on snow.

A car skids on ice as slippery surfaces such as ice act as lubricants which reduce friction and hence a car slips on snow
