because a piece of wood have high ingnition temp. which temp can not acquired by matchsticks

wood doesn't burn when a burning matchstick is brought near it because the ingition temperature of the wood is high and matchstick burn out soon . it needs to heated for a long period so it doesn't burn with burning matchstick.
