Why does a ray of light passing through the optical centre of the lens travels undeviated after passing through the lens?

because at the centre of lens it ray of light passes perpendicularly it means all the sides of light falls on the same time optical lens so their speed changes at the same time that is why no refraction occurs

VERY SIMPLE REASON IT ONLY HAPPENS IN THIN LENSES BECAUSE OF THEIR PROPERTY ,WHICH IS THAT THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE INCIDENT RAY AT OPTICAL CENTRE AND THE EMERGENT RAY IS NEGLIGIBLE SO WE SAY THE LIGHT RAY IS NOT REFRACTED.
