✯when a ray of light enters from a rarer medium to a denser medium it bends towards the normal.
✯ when a ray of light moves out of denser to rarer medium it bends away from the normal.
✯ in a prism when a light ray comes from air into it its speed gets reduced due to which it deviates from its path towards the normal.
✯ that is why the ray of light bends towards its base.
