Why does a stone tied to a strong string & rotated fly-off tangentially when released?​

Answer:

because when we are rotating the stone in a circular motion two forces acts on it : centripetal and centrifugal the second force that is centrifugal acts away from the centre so due to that force stone fly off tangentially when released from string
