Why does alcohol show both acidic and basic characters..?
Plz...Help

So alcohols, like water, are both acidic and basic. It is not acidic. In order to be acidic a compound has to ionise in such a way as to produce an anionic moiety and a proton H+ (or more likely, in water a solvated proton H3O+)
