Anaerobic respiration takes places in the muscle cells to fulfill the demand of energy. After finishing the race, an athlete breathe faster and deeper than usual so that more oxygen is supplied to the cells.

When we run or engage in tremendous physical exercise then the demand for energy is high but the oxygen supply is limited.

Anaerobic respiration takes place in the muscle cells and this fulfils the need for energy.

After strenuous physical exercise an athlete breathes deeper and faster than usual so that he or she gets more amount of oxygen from anaerobic respiration.
