Similarities:
- Both aerobic and anaerobic respiration use glucose as their starting molecule.
- ATP is produced in both reactions as their product.
Differences:
- Oxygen is utilized in aerobic respiration, whereas anaerobic respiration don't require oxygen.
- Anaerobic organisms tends to survive and produce energy without oxygen.
- Along with ATP, aerobic reaction produce carbon dioxide and water as products, whereas lactic acid is the product of anaerobic reaction.
- Lactic acids in large amount can be harmful, so it has to be transferred for in order to be broken down into molecules.
