Why does an iron nail sink in water whereas iron ship floats in water?

✔Tn iron needle is a compact solid and its density is more than water.

✔Thus, immersed in water it displaces very small amount of water as compared to its own weight and hence sinks in water.

✔The iron ship is Hollow from within and hence its Apparent density is less than that of water.

✔Thus, when in water it displaces more weight of water than its own weight and hence floats on the surface of water.

bz ships cover large area which produce minimum pressure we know that area is inversely proportional to the pressure so a boat float in water where as a iron nail sink in water
