Explanation:

Shadow is a space when the light is blocked by an opaque object. It is a part where light does not reach. Shadow is formed when an opaque object is placed in the path of light. For shadow formation, there should be a source of light, an opaque object and a screen where the shadow reflects. A shadow can not be formed through a transparent object likewise lens can't form shadow as the light will pass directly through it.
