She said so because Anne was a Jewish girl, living in the times of German rule. The Germans believed that the beliefs of the Jews were unimportant and that they shouldn't exist. They believed that the Nazis were the ones who should be in charge. The Nazis treated the Jews horribly and punished them even if they did a tiny little thing wrong.
And I am not being rude towards the Jewish.
