here is ur answer........
beryllium resembles or show same properties with aluminium because some of the elements in our periodic table there are some of the elements which resembles diagonally with other elements like have beryllium  have a diagonal relation with aluminium and so its properties with alluminium are same .its because of the diagonally relation concept

thanks......
hope it helps uh @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Beryllium (Be) shows resemblance with its diagonally opposite element Aluminium (Al).

Similarities are:

(1) Both metals have a tendency to form covalent compounds. Example: The chlorides of both being covalent are soluble in organic solvents .

(2) These two elements have same electronegativity and the polarising power i.e. charge/ radius ratio of their ions are very similar.

(3) Both BeCl2 and AlCl3 act as Lewis acid.

(4) Both metals dissolve in strong alkalies to form soluble complexes.

(5) The oxides of both  Be(BeO) and Al(Al2O3) are hard, high melting insoluble solids.
