BF3 is an electron deficient compound as there is no octet around boron. So it can accept a pair of electrons to get octet. Thus it behaves as lewis acid.

according to Brownsted- Lewis concept an acid in s a substance which accept lone pair . here we see Boron configuration. 1s^2,2s^2 ,2p^1
hence vacant p-orbital exist ,it's mean BF3 has tendency to accept lone pair
hence BF3 is Lewis acid .
