Why does bleaching powder not completely dissolve in water ? Discuss is it a single salt on mixture of salt.

Bleaching powder’s chemical composition consists of various calcium compounds.

It is basically a mixture of calcium chloride, calcium hydroxide and calcium hypochlorite.

Thus, it is safe to say that is just not a single salt.

Because of the heavy and complex calcium salts, bleaching powder is insoluble in water.
