why does boron have a higher ionization energy than aluminum

Hey mate!!!

➡️Those atoms have electrons paired in an orbital state, this means that the electrons are closer to each other than other electrons and they receive a higher repulsion from that paired electron.  This helps push them away from the atom meaning you don't need as much energy to remove them.
