Brutus was an idealist and tended to believe others easily.He was also sincerely devoted to the cause of Rome therefore he felt that if he went up to the pulpit first and explains why they had killed Caesar then the Romans would understand that this action was for their best and they would not revolt against the conspirators even if Antony instigated them thus, Brutus allowed Antony to deliver the funeral speech.
