Why does Caesar ignore Calpurnias advice to stay home? Would the result have been different if Caesar has paid any attention?

Caesar ignored Calpurnia's advice to stay at home chiefly because Decious Brutus succeeded in his plan of luring him to go to the Capitol. He gave arguments against Caesar's decision of staying at home. He explained Calpurnia's dream in his own manner; he also jeered at him for believing in omens. He also suggested that the senators had decided to offer him the crown that day.

Apart from the above mentioned reasons, Caesar himself wanted to go to the Capitol that day.

If Caesar had not been over-confident of his power, the result would have been different. If he had paid heed to his wife's supplication and the prophecy of the prophet concerning ides of March, he would surely have averted his assassination.
