Answer

Each atom in calcium has a stronger attraction to the delocalized electrons than potassium. In addition, potassium atoms have only one valence electron, while calcium atoms have two. ... Since more energy is required to break the bonds, the melting point of calcium will be higher than that of potassium.

Hi,

Metals have special bond called metallic bond , the strength of bond according to the no of valency electrons , when the no of valency electron greater , the strength is greater

Now,

Potassium have 1 valency electron while calcium have 2 valency electrons , so calcium have more strength than potassium and the metallic properties is greater in calcium

Hope the answer is helpful

Good luck
