bcoz carbon is more electronegative and it has tendency to lose carbon atom

yes carbon always form covalent bond since valency of carbon is 4 it requires enormous energy to lose electrons and get stability and also it can gain 4 electrons to get neon valency because if 4 electrons are added then it becomes difficult to proton to hold all electrons so carbon share electrons to get octet rule so it always forms covalent bond
