Ccl4 does not act as a Lewis acid but sicl4 acts as a Lewis acid. ... So it works as a Lewis acid. But ccl4 can not keep more than 8 electrons in its outermost orbit and it can not increase it's coordination number also. So it is unable to take electron pair from other compounds.
