why does chemical fertilizer reduce soil fertility

Chemical fertilizer usually provide nitrogen , phosphorus and potassium which easily dissolve in water and immediately available to plants.These Chemicals won't stay in the soil and pollute ground water. Chemical fertilizers which include pesticides may kill some useful microorganisms which is present in soil.Due to this soil loses its fertility. Hope this helps you
