A clear cloudless day-time sky is blue because molecules in the air scatter blue light from the sun more than they scatter red light. When we look towards the sun at sunset, we see red and orange colours because the blue light has been scattered out and away from the line of sight.

Hope it helps you.

hey mate!!!

a sky appear blue because of following reason:-

1) a sky appear blue because is due to scattering of blue light in atmosphere.

2) as we know that sunlight enter into Earth's atmosphere the atom or molecule are the gases present in atmosphere scatter the light.

3) since the wavelength of red colour is larger than the wavelength of other colour in sunlight so red colour as scatter least .

4) hence the scatter of light of blue colour in a sky is least so that a sky appear blue.

hope it helps!!!!

thanks
