why does divide becomes multiply while going to other side?​

When an arthametc sign (+, - , * , /) are moved on the other side of the equation they take the opposite sign. As for example + becomes - and * becomes /. So as division is the opposite sign of multiplication, divide becomes multiply when shifted on the other side.
