u need to correct the question it is dry hcl

dry hcl gas do not change the colour of dry litmus paper

it is because of the absence of H+ ions or H3O+ ions that are present in the acids

but due to the absence of water on dry HCl ,hcl dry gas don't change the colour of litmus paper
