Why does Elecction Commission have so muvb powers ? Is this good for democracy?

Election Commission have so much power because during election all political parties and their leaders will be busy in the election so who will control our country and perform election therefore Election Commission have so much power and Election Commission have so much power it is very good for democracy. because if during election any political parties control their Government and perform election then that will be bad because they can use many malpractices in the election.
