There are 2 reasons:-
1) Due to resonance and polarising power, the reactivity of benzaldehyde decreases than formaldehyde
2) Moreover, benzaldehyde has a bulkier group(i.e., Ph-group) but in formaldehyde, there is a tiny H-atom, so due to steric hindrance, benzaldehyde will not take part in nucleophilic reactions
